This one went through a lot of iterations before finally settling into this groove. The lyrics took years to piece together too. God, now that I think of it, this song was freaking hard to make. I had this tragic love story in my head that was easy enough to write out on the page but then much harder to pull off when I had to sing it. Quick verses, clipped melodic phrases- this ain't a Springsteen song format anymore, buddy. Turned out alright. Most of what I like about it is in the music, especially Jon's guitar solo. Excuse me, Big Muff cutting through.
